Windmill support goes beyond offering loans

April 14, 2022

Windmill is not your traditional lender. Besides offering low-interest loans, we provide additional benefits to clients. One way we can support you is through our Mentorship Program.

Based on clients’ feedback, we created the Mentorship Program in 2019 with one goal in mind. We wanted to help equip current clients (mentees) with the skills and tools required to find gainful employment in Canada that matches their experience and education.

We match mentees with former Windmill clients and corporate partners (mentors) who work in the same field. This way, the latter can help mentees navigate the Canadian labour market. Mentors can assist mentees to:

  • Discover career paths (explore personal preferences and career options)
  • Develop a strategy and plan for future career goals
  • Create networking strategies
  • Learn how to gain work experience or look for career opportunities
  • Learn from diverse perspectives and experiences
  • Identify strengths, skill gaps, and/or areas of improvement

By participating in the Mentorship Program, not only will mentees receive all the benefits. To mentors, it offers a sense of fulfillment and personal growth, the opportunity to have an incredible influence in their mentees’ lives and the chance to enhance their leadership skills and expand their professional network.

As a skilled immigrant, you bring skills, education and experience to Canada. Build on them by joining the Mentorship Program.

Although there are no costs associated with joining the program, it requires a minimum commitment of six months. Meetings are flexible in terms of frequency and contact method – in person, over the phone, via Skype/Zoom.

Mentors receive a letter of recognition and certificate upon completion of the program.
